Build the minimum that tests your riskiest assumption. If your startup depends on users uploading photos, prototype the upload flow. If it depends on a marketplace dynamic, prototype the buyer-seller interaction. Do not waste time prototyping features that do not validate your core bet.
The cost of prototyping is a fraction of the cost of building wrong. A two-week prototype sprint might cost 5% of a full build. But it can save you from building something nobody wants. That is not an expense. That is the cheapest insurance you will ever buy.
